Club Rules

BODY WORKS WEST (BWW) – RULES FOR CLUB MEMBERS   Club Members and their guests visiting BWW must comply with these Rules. These Rules are incorporated into your Contract with us, and compliance with these Rules is important to enable you to get full enjoyment from your Membership. BWW reserves the right to temporarily suspend or cancel your membership for failure to comply with the club rules. BWW reserves the right to make reasonable amendments to these Rules at any time. If we do this, we will give you reasonable notice.   MEMBERSHIP CARD You will be issued with a Membership Card and this card should be presented to reception each time you visit the club. If you have lost your card you will be issued with a replacement.   GUESTS AND VISITORS You may bring guests to the club provided we receive payment of the guest fee and your guest completes a guest registration form. The club reserves the right to deny entry to prospective members and/or guests.   GENERAL Opening times for the club are displayed on the website. The gym, pool, spa, sauna and steam facilities will close 15 minutes before club closing time to allow members time to change. You may not bring pets (other than guide dogs) onto the club premises. You must not take any photographs in the club.   GYM USE You must complete a “Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire” (PAR-Q) before using any fitness facilities and you should seek instruction before using unfamiliar equipment. Please arrive on the gym floor 5 minutes prior to any personal training or fitness induction appointments. We reserve the right to refuse to re-book an appointment for you if you repeatedly cancel You may not use the gym while under the influence of alcohol, or anything which may affect your ability to exercise safely.   STUDIO CLASSES Class timetables are displayed on the website, spin classes must be booked in advance at reception on the day of the class. Class timetables and instructors are subject to change from time to time without notice. Please do not open the doors while a class is in progress, as this may interfere with the operation of the air-conditioning system and disrupt other participants. In order to avoid disturbing classes, please arrive in good time, if you are more than 5 minutes late you will not be able to join the class. If the class is overcrowded, the instructor may restrict the number of people in the class. An instructor may, at any time, ask you to leave a class if you are jeopardising the safety or enjoyment of others.     PILATES REFORMER Reformer classes are not included in your club membership and must be booked and paid in advance, either at reception or through the club website.     BEHAVIOUR & DRESS Consideration must be shown to fellow members and club staff at all times, if you have a complaint or concern, please ask to speak privately to a member of the club’s management. Smoking is prohibited in any area of the club including the use of e-cigarettes or similar devices. Please wear suitable attire at all times when on club premises, and appropriate exercise clothing is required whilst exercising, and especially when using the pool and spa. Any coats and rucksacks should be stored in the lockers provided. Please be reasonable when using mobile phones. They should not be taken into the gym or studios, and if you need to speak to someone on your phone, please take the call in the reception area or outside in the mews.     LOCKERS Lockers are made available subject to availability. The club does not undertake that use of a locker will guarantee that no theft of or damage to your property will occur. We will not accept any liability in relation to locker thefts unless they result from our negligence. You should check that your household contents or other insurance policy protects you against any risk of theft. Please do not leave your belongings in the lockers overnight. Anything left will be removed and can be collected from reception. Should they not be collected within 30 days, they will be donated to charity.     SWIMMING POOL AND SPA AREA For reasons of health, safety and hygiene we ask that you:-
  • Always shower before entering the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi or swimming pool
  • Do not consume, store, or bring into the changing rooms or swimming pool area, any food or drink or any kind of glass container
  • Only shave in the wash basins provided;
  • Do not attempt to dry clothes or towels in the sauna
  • Do not bring sauna oils or essences, cosmetic products, newspapers/magazines/books or other flammable materials into the sauna as these constitute a serious fire hazard
  • Do not bring oils or essences to the steam room either as pouring them on the steam outlet will create a burn hazard.
You should not use the saunas, steam rooms or jacuzzi while under the influence of alcohol, anticoagulants, antihistamines, beta-blockers, narcotics, or tranquillisers. If you have high or low blood pressure, heart disease, cardiac irregularities, asthma and/or diabetes, or if you are pregnant you should consult your doctor prior to using our Club facilities.     HEALTH & SAFETY You must read any health & safety notices and comply with their recommendations, and you must comply with any reasonable requests made by the members of staff in relation to matters of health and safety.
