Sport

Sports massages help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity Deep Tissue Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue, it aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas.

 

Therapeutic

Therapeutic massage involves the manipulation of the soft tissue structures of the body to prevent and alleviate pain, discomfort, muscle spasm, and stress; and, to promote health and wellness.

 

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage focuses on the manipulation of the body’s soft tissue (i.e. the skin, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia) using the hands is a gentle, flowing massage technique that uses varying degrees of pressure and stretching movements. Hot Stone Hot stone massage therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism.

 

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy massages promote relaxation, soothes nerves, and relieves strained back and leg muscles in expectant mothers, it is especially beneficial in the second and third trimesters, when the extra weight in your belly puts a strain on your back.

 

Lymphatic Massage

Lymphatic massages are a delicate form of massage that stimulates the body’s lymphatic system, improving the bodies metabolism, and helps the body to eliminate waste and toxins whilst providing a boost to the immune system.

 

Meet Bevan Smith

Bevan has a comprehensive background in physiology and pathology incorporating a Bachelor of Science (sport and exercise science) from the University of Auckland with a Diploma in Body Therapies from the New Zealand College of Massage.

 

Bevan offers a bespoke massage service that amalgamates techniques from several styles of massage including Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, myofascial release and neuromuscular therapy that focuses on pain relief, postural correction, enhancing soft tissue tone and elasticity and enhancing cardiovascular, musculoskeletal and neurological function.
