Yoga is an ancient practice that has been used for thousands of years for mental and physical health.
It combines physical postures with breath work to help improve flexibility, posture, strength and to help calm the mind.
In short, yoga is a science, a moving meditation that is practised worldwide to help live a more peaceful, happier life.
Why practice?
Yoga can help with many things, such as anxiety, stress, tight muscles, depression, addictions, a weak core and many other ailments.
From personal experience, I would say that yoga is truly a healer. There’s nothing quite like the feeling you get after practising. You may go into the class feeling a certain way, but the chances are you will leave feeling lighter and more energised.
About Myself
I have been fortunate to have practised since the age of 12 and have been teaching for over 10 years.
I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in different places such as Finland, Sri Lanka, India and New York.
I have learnt from some really influential teachers, including Sharath in Mysore, grandson of the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois, who founded the famous Ashtanga institute in south India.
Yoga runs in my family. My mother is also a teacher and I have learnt a lot from being in her presence.
It is my passion to share all that I have learnt (and still learning) over the years to help others to feel better in their bodies.
I’m very passionate about teaching on a one to one basis, as the practice is much more personalised, and so excited to be teaching at Body Works West.
If you see me, don’t be afraid to come and say hello…
